Installation Guidance
Installation is a straightforward DIY project, often quicker than tiling, as there is no grouting required.
- Preparation: Ensure the wall surface (plaster, old tiles, and plasterboard) is clean, dry, and structurally sound. Remove any dust, grease, or loose debris. Minor surface irregularities are usually masked by the 10mm thick panel, but large bumps should be smoothed.
- Adhesive: Use a high-strength, solvent-free construction adhesive or an MS Polymer (Hybrid Polymer) adhesive. Apply it in strong vertical lines or a zigzag pattern on the back of the panel.
- Cutting: Use a fine-tooth saw or jigsaw (with a plastic/aluminium blade) for straight cuts. Always cut from the back (non-decorative) side. For circular cuts (e.g., pipes or shower fittings), use a hole saw.
- Sealing Joints: Apply a bead of neutral-cure, mould-resistant silicone sealant inside the tongue or groove of the panel before locking the next one in place. This ensures a fully watertight connection, especially in shower areas.
- Finishing: Use end caps, internal corners, and external corner trims (often sold in Chrome/Silver, White, or Black) to finish all exposed edges and corners neatly.
